SESSION 1: OPENING KEYNOTES

The opening session will provide a backdrop for subsequent conference proceedings, by giving high-level perspectives on public policy, financial markets and corporate strategy in the renewable energy sector. Senior speakers will share their experience and knowledge of the sector and will set the scene for this year’s REFF-Wall Street.

9:15-10:30am SESSION 2: GOVERNMENT INITIATIVES & POLICY DRIVERS 

This session begins with a global perspective and then focuses on US Policy.  The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, passed by Congress in February this year, provides $787bn in appropriations, including $37.5bn for energy efficiency and renewable energy. This session will examine how the implementation of the Act, along with other policy initiatives including financial crisis actions and the prospective adoption of federal legislation on energy and climate policy, will affect renewable energy companies today and in the future.

Amid turmoil in debt markets across the world, sources of credit and deal structures are being radically altered from established models. This session will assemble key players in debt finance for renewable energy to address how the market has been drastically changed in the past nine months and how lenders are responding to changing market dynamics.

SESSION 5: NEW EQUITY MARKETS FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY

The equity world has been changed by the loss of Lehman Brothers, reduction of AIG, sale of Merrill Lynch, and other transformations of Wall Street with the attendant loss of tax equity. This session will look at the new government incentive grant and other structures, the new role of cash equity, the new players that are working the renewable energy market, and how investors will deploy financial resources in order to take advantage of the opportunities in today’s market.

Senior executives will give their views of the market and discuss the challenges they face as the industry moves forward.
